In Our Wake
A young and troubled soul, Amari, finds herself in a situation in which she has never imagined herself being in. After her mother’s passing, Amari changed her ways of living that eventually caused her to hurt others more than she was hurting herself. As the plot resembles, the audience is shown the isolation and self doubt that Amari has been going through due to broken past relationships. With a carton box filled with old memorabilia, Amari makes her way around her neighborhood trying to make amends with everyone that she has ever hurt in the past.
Collaborated and written by the Y-Haven community, “In Our Wake” is a heartfelt story that is pieced together by multiple experiences from individuals that have been through difficult times in their past. Y-Haven is a program that welcomes individuals that have formerly been incarcerated, recently re-entering the community, struggle with opioid use, and/or a mental health disorder(s).
