My Story
Mihalina Dziadyniak is a former graduate of Cleveland State University where she studied and received her B.A. in acting. Mihalina’s love for theatre and the arts started off at a very young age. Whilst being a toddler her parents signed her up to Polish School where she would be a part of many skits, shows, and dance concerts. During this time Mihalina was also involved in beauty pageants where she would become more comfortable being on stage. Upon starting high school, Mihalina became interested in becoming a part of the school's drama club. While being a member for four years, she has been given the opportunity to have multiple roles. Although her goal was to become a performer, she always took a job in any way that she could in order to be involved in the production. Selling tickets, joining back stage crew, helping with costume design, sewing, painting sets, helping advertise the show, becoming an assistant stage manager, and eventually becoming the stage manager herself. All of these roles helped gain experience for her in different fields in order to determine her preferances, and most importantly gain the knowledge and experience in different fields. During her time in high school, her school participated in the Dazzle Awards. A high school “Tony Awards” ceremony where schools and students were recognized for their hard work and talents. Since the beginning of the Dazzle Awards, RRHS has won Best Musical each year along with other awards, one of them being a musical where Mihalina stage managed.
Upon graduating high school, Mihalina has spent her time at Cleveland State pursuing her love for theatre. Throughout the four years she has been able to be a part of crew, help build/construct sets, perform, and stage manage. During her studies Mihalina has worked with multiple professors that have taught her the knowledge that she has today. She has worked with Holly Holsinger (Voice and Speech, Movement, Acting), Toby Vera Bercovici (Directing, Devised Workshops, Audition Skills), Dr. Lisa Bernd (Theatre History, Script Analysis, Dramatic Theory and Criticism), Russ Borski (Principles of Technical Theatre), David Stoughton (Lighting Design), Cameron Michalak (Scenic Studio Practicum), Lou Hardaway (Jazz Dance), and DeAndra Stone (Ballet, Contemporary Modern Dance). While school was out of session , Mihalina has been given the opportunities to perform in the chorus for the Cleveland Opera in Playhouse Square. So far she has sung in five operas including: Die Tote Stadt, Il Trovatore, La Boheme, The Haunted Manor, and Porgy and Bess.
